Hi, this is Joel Hunter, and I’m here to remind you today of something you probably already know. It deals with our tendency to become very quickly self-focused. One day, I was with my three sons in the car, and we were waiting for my wife, Becky, to come out of the store. They were all very small at that age, and you know all your kids are different. Our middle one was the Cuddler, and so immediately, he climbed onto my lap, started talking with me, and then noticed I had on mirror sunglasses, he said. Hey, Dad, you’ve got, and he just stopped, and he saw his own image in those mirrors and began making faces at himself. And then he began making muscle poses. Totally forgetting that his father was just 1/2 inch behind those glasses. We have a tendency to do the same thing. We start out talking to the father, and then we get very self-focused about how we look, especially to ourselves and to others. What I want to remind us is that the Father is watching. As a matter of fact, it says in scripture when you give to the needy, your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. So today, let’s help others but let’s not make it about us or even about them. Let’s make it about the father. Who’s watching?
